FUCK THE BASS PLAYER
Regulary, The Inspector Cluzo interviews a famous bass player about what's
wrong with him... COMING
SOON !!!
THE INSPECTOR CLUZO @ EUROSONIC FESTIVAL Date : 13/01/2010
Location : Eurosonic
Festival, Groningen
Mood : Tulip
We're back from
Groningen, Netherlands, where we've played at Eurosonic Festival. Actually,
we played even two times in a row (first at Huize Maas and then at Vera)
because the boss of the festival asked us if we could do an extra show...
well, we can!
Here's a little video
of the live show at Vera, 14/01/2010
An Interview

by 3VOOR12 At Huize Maas the next surprise dives up, again a French band: TIC.
A duo on guitar/vocals and drums with a hard-hitting show. The singer/guitarist
is changing between a soulful falsette + funky guitar, to next switch
to raw metal with roaring voice. TFB they call themselves and they go
off against America, businessmen in the musicindustry, the audience itzelf
- '"you bastards behave like we are an English band!!!" - but
also mrs.Carla Bruni (the wife of the French president Sarkozy - editor)
is not spared. Very entertaining en catchy songs brought with tremendous
energy, including FTBP.
by Festival
Junks We stay in Maas for the next act. TIC consists of 2 men, one rough
with long hair en beard and both in a tight suit. On CD these gentlemen
sound rather intelligible. Live it is roaring and shouting/screaming.
Everything but subtle. The nice thing about this band is that we are dealing
with a french form of Jack Black. The anecdotes about everything the 2
Frenchmen hate and the constantly kicking the drums down are funny.
by Roarezine Yours truly didnt know that Youthless was cancelled, but the present
audience tells me that the French rock duo TIC was a very good substitute.
The show starts when a part of the drums gets thrown away and this is
only the start of a remarkable performance. The band calls themselves
The French Bastards and make clear that they have a big dislike of Sarkozy,
Paris, English people and the United States. Halfway the set 2 young ladies
are 'called' to get on stage to support the band with dancing to their
heavy rock songs. From this moment on a beautiful pit starts and full
Vera comes loose. A more than good - also thanks to the good, high voice
of the singer - and entertaining performance.

The Habit Next the curiosity is awakened by a name of a French band at Vera:
TIC. When entering seeing a small drumkit at front of the stage, already
promises much good. And yes: TIC turns out to be a male drum/guitar duo
with a privilege (or passion...) for Black Sabbath and Led Z.-kind of
riff rock with solid groove, combined with pinched high vocals like Jack
Black can do and much, much slander and cheap jokes. Yeah, Veras audience
likes that, the response is getting louder per song. Especially when the
french bastards, as they call themselves, clarify to awfully dislike bassplayers.
Its not for nothing that the bands website is called ftbp.com. At times
this duo is very good and intense, it's always amusing, although at the
intermezzo 'I want to fuck the wife of the French president' a little
bit cheap.

XS Because of a schedule change, by chance I can catch a piece of the
show that I missed on thursday. This tight in suit dressed French duo
turn out to be 'the real' entertainers with a deeply rooted rock&roll
mentality. The guitarplayer is a combination of Angus Young with Björn
Ottenheim, where at unexpected moments also a Michael Jackson-like falsetto
comes out; the drummer looks like a stray businessman who meanwhile rocks
hard. Professional audience controllers with balls.
by Planet Trash The French duo TIC is closing the night. Beech rock by two men who
don't wish to take themselves and the world too serious. A big relieve
compared to all those 'little bands' walking around in Groningen, only
to please the right people instead of doing their own thing.

Blog Sometimes youre just out of luck at Eurosonic. There is a long
not moving line in front of the Walrus, where Shaking Godspeed will be
playing. So we head to Vera to exclude the chance of missing Wolf People.
To my surprise there is still a party on stage with TIC, 2 French who
also call themselves The French Bastards. To find out more about this
band you should not look for www.theinspectorcluzo.com but to www.fuckthebassplayer.com.
This explains a lot about the band, they dont have a bass player
en dont restrict themselves for use of language. The
bands bio is short but strong: fucking . etc The music
is best described as filthy rock&roll with humorous lyrics.
The cd also has horns and organ, but I havent seen those instruments
live. Unfortunately I was too late to write an extended review of this
show, but what i found was a sweaty group of enthousiastic fans, wildly
moving in the pit. The two men on guitar and drums are neatly dressed
in costume, but thats just a shell. I see the guitarist pitting
towards the audience and the drumkit also is not spared. Together the
French call the audience to break down Vera, because according to them,
that is part of a real rock&roll concert.
by Oor.Nl The award for the coolest band of Eurosonic goes to the French The
Inspector Cluzo. Rock & roll with a lot of humor. There is jumping,
laughing and especially enjoying in an increasingly crowded Vera. To make
the party complete, a few people are invited to dance on stage, to the
pleasure of the band, who also clearly are enjoying themselves. But all
jokes aside, the vocals are insanely good and all songs are put together
excellent. The Inspector Cluzo is a perfect festival band. We are looking
forward to seeing them back this summer.

Under This 2-piece rocknroll machine roars through Vera as a
madman and they wont go away until the roof is off. They dont need
a bass to put down a good groove and striking are the style references
to Led Z, includiing robert plants vocals. The invitation to the audience
to come on stage is gratefully accepted and tired but fulfilled TIC is
led out.
