Back to grandpa a great guy, angular. He can make a lot of damages when he was fighting, dixit my uncles when they received a slap, or dixit those who had taken a punch one day including a policeman in Benquet. A real guy from the Landes, taciturn, a stubborn guy with a big heart. He was a farmer and raised seven children with one cow only, during the war
Grandpa,
your beret is in Chicago, at home, and we're proud of having lost it there
rather than in Bordeaux. It would have been really hard for you, with all
your gascony values

Alternative
distribution
As a farmer will sell his fruits on the market (that means without intermediaries,
so best deals and best products), this comic book/album will be distributed
directly from producers to consumers, throughout the upcoming tour of 15
France's shows, including a very
special show at La Cigale in Paris, April 7th. This will be a special
double-show with The Inspector Cluzo, a "Landes Intermission",
and finally a show of The Inspector Cluzo & Mates (with horns, keyboard
and percussions). We'll give you soon all the french dates and more info
about this show at la Cigale. You can already buy
your tickets (€.20.50) or a special pack with tickets + comic book/album
(€.25.00) to be picking up at the entrance. The album will also be
available on our online shop, in digital version and in alternative venues
(bookstores, indie shops...). More explanation and details soon on TIC's
website.
Adichatz a toute.
THE
INSPECTOR CLUZO'S LITTLE SECRETS
We've just finished to record our
new album, "The Two Mousqueraires", to be released in January
2012. Our U.S Tour is starting tomorrow with two shows at CMJ Festival in
New York (all the dates here), and we have a little
gift for you : everybody ask us all the time how we can sound like we sound,
without a bass nor cheating with fucking loops like a lot of bands today.
Well, The Inspector Cluzo answer the question on his own way in this little
video ! Today, the guitar, next week, the drums, and finally the practice
before the show!

THE
TIC / MAITE MICHELIN GUIDE OF FESTIVALS 2011
(Maïté is a fat Gascon woman who did some cooking TV show)
As
Landais and Gascon, we are very attached to « l'art de recevoir »
which includes what you have in your plate and how people treat you. It's
more a question of willing than means, we can do a lot with only a little.
« l'art de recevoir » says a lot more on a festival than the
billing. That's why we decided to edit that book: « le Grand guide
TIC/Maïté » of the festivals in 2011 knowing that the
golden club TIC/Maité reward goes to Jakez from Run Ar Puns in Châteaulin
(Brittany) a real man who does know what hospitality means. We thought that
it would be more interesting to speak about that rather than festival French
headliners who are boring. You could lose your appetite.
Europavox
: 7/10
Catering professional
They could have a better mark if they chose another wine than this horrible
wine from Auvergna... Besides hospitality was warmfull, very human with
good quality products. You can go and play Europavox festival, they are
doing well.
Jardin
du Michel : 6/10
Catering
benevolent
Apparently they have little means but a nice sincere cooking and they do
their best to do well. For example, you can eat at all time.
Moissons
Rock : 8/10

Very good! All is home cooked, the Rabbit terrine was delicious!
The hospitality was very warmfull from everybody which makes the dishes
even better! We even left the next day with some of what was left whereas
Luke got nothing. Les Fatals Picards got nothing too even though they tried
but they emptied up the bar after their gig! Enough is enough.
Aucard
: 6/10
Catering benevolent
Same than Jardin du Michel, they did good although they had little means,
especially their wonderful Chinon red wine. The best wine we've drunk so
far on any festival! Special thanks to Pascal and Enzo who brought a cheese
plate at the end of the show.
Art
Rock : 0,5/10

At this festival, that was not good. You have to choose either a starter
or a desert (c'mon, you're not at your Aunt's), dinner from 7 to 10pm, recomposed
chicken who never run of his life and if you ask for more potatoes (the
most common dish) you get shouted « with more than 500 dinner, we
can't afford, guess if everybody asks for more ». Nice. We call that
the art of the No Hospitality. American bands were happy, proving that was
not that good. We recommended to the promoters to work with local producers
here in Brittany, they are a lot like in most part of France. We had been
told about good Saucisse crêpes but haven't seen any. For next
year that's a good idea, cheaper and better. Bands from Paris and US bands
will give us their meal tickets and they'll go to KFC to eat some weird
chicken who never run. We are not sure it was a professional catering, if
so, they would need to go and learn from Maïté or from any of
our grand-mother how to welcome people and get shaked a little bit. If you
don't want to be shaked, you can go and visit Jakez, he'll teach you how
to do.
Rock
Dans Tout Ses Etats : 6/10
Catering professional
Two years ago, we played there and the catering was the best we could have
in France, by far: home made « tapenade »... This year that
was... good. Good people, good choice but some « craziness »
was missing in the food. The problem of professional catering now is «
intermittence ». It became a real job passionless. Food should be
a pleasure first of all, the pleasure of giving pleasure!
Décibulles
: 6/10
Catering

Under the heat of the summer (Sharon Jones wouldn't like the ghost AC),
some charming volunteers served us a very honest and good meal... we had
a lot of pleasure with the local specialty: the Flammekueche cooked in a
traditional oven! Awesome!
Rockwave
: 9/10
Catering professional
Here they had means, the know-how with a little piece of exotic... golden
olive oil and « Natural » tomatoes, with taste, not shit well-rounded
, well reddened tomatoes. Very warmfull welcoming. What shows that it was
good was that the stupid english, super reverbed voice, weird hair cut band
The Editors did not like it. That was very good indeed.
Rheinkultur
: not marked
We haven't had time to eat there as we were solving the issue of the Turkish
cymbal with the Dawson soap cover band who played before us. Check the next
live report.
Taiwan
: 9/10
Taiwanese food, we had already noticed, is one of the best Asian food in
the world with the Japanese one. We should not tell you what to avoid the
diplomatic conflict with China however now we can after the French Fregates
issue. In order that you understand, Taiwanese food is Chinese food without
the hectic side of the Chinese. It's a very tasty fine food full of fish
and steamed ravioli full of subtle smelling and rich taste. That a not well
known part of Taiwan. Taiwanese are very kind and respectful people. Perfect
place to send a BOBO for his intense rehab period to recover the respect
of the others!

SHOWS CANCELED IN GERMANY
Hey, german fans ! We are really sorry, but we must
cancel our gigs at Reeperbahn Festival (22/09) and in Aachen (23/09), because
we must be in studio in the end of september to record our new album, that
is about to be released at the beginning of January. As we are going one
month in USA, everything needs to be done before. Sorry for inconvenience,
and no worries, we will play in Aachen and Hamburg next year!
LE
"WOERTH FESTIVAL", END OF THE STORY !!
"CUAN LOU MALAÛ POT PETAT...." !
To follow our focus on "Le Printemps de Bourges", that we called
the "Woerth Fetival" because of the conflict of interest of some
people working in it, we received lively reactions... Lively enough making
us think that we touched the goal. And we are proud to hear that people
or bands are now talking about the "Woerth Festival" laughing.
We had also a reaction from "Rock En Seine festival" saying immediatly
that there is no way we are on the bill this year...We know that one of
the people working at "Printemps de Bourges" also works at "Rock
en Seine" festival!
Then, few minutes later, we received an insulting email from another "Printemps
de Bourges" booker (with big Ego and somehow a bit "Bobo")
who felt insulted and replying that we are too much regionalist activists.
That would come from someone complaining by the Loire river: "Please,
lemme play with my friends, the bookers!"
Lastly, the most interesting feedback is coming from the threat of receiving
an official answer from the "Printemps de Bourges" festival. We
obviously proposed to fully publish that answer in our next newsletter so
that nothing is hidden... well, nothing came so far except what we expected:
some doors closing. When some doors are closing, others are opening even
more vertuous ones. The most important is to stay straight.
Besides, we had a lot of positive feedback and a general support from the
public, from some bands and some music business activists, shocked by this
disgracefull situation. We'll keep fighting for those Gascon values: Bravery,
humility, all that the "Bobo's" cannot understand as they are
only focused on themselves. We really blame them so we decided to help them
humorously: during our next US tour, we'll send them a postcard fom each
city on which they'll read an old Gascon proverb. We are not even sure that
after that they'll be able to eat some "Foie Gras" or to go to
Rugby match so that they can share with people and not only be selfish although
we tried to share some values with them... Maybe that'll make them think
about that and they will fat ("péter un coup" as we usually
say) relaxing?
Here is the 1st proverb:
« Cuan lou malaû pot petat, lou médécin pot
s'en tournà » which means: when the sick person is able to
fat, the doctor can leave"
The moral is: are you in a good healh enough to fat?
ps: regarding the "Strauss Kahn Festival", sorry, we haven't found yet... keep in touch :-)

THE
INSPECTOR CLUZO SHARES THE GASCON VALUES OF
TIC decided to make you discover regularly new partners from Gasconny and
whom we share the same Gascon values. Those people or Instituition represents
very well values of our region: "Panache, Bravery, Humility and Fighting
spirit"
Through our trips to France, Europe, Asia, USA, we want to make people discover
these persons sharing those values who have the courage to not do as everyone
else does making nice things keeping safe their Mind and their Ethic.
That shows that it is possible, you dear "Bobo's" or dear "English-speaking-lost
people-in-a-regular-world" ! Be brave and never give up!!

STADE MONTOIS RUGBY
We are proud of our partner, the mythic 100 years old "Stade Montois
Rugby" from Mont de Marsan. In the 60's/70's, the club provided the
French Team with the best rugby players like Benoît Dauga, the Boniface
Brothers or Christian Darrouy... very famous names even in Australia as
we could notice it when we were there. They invented the "French Flair"
as they call it in England: run with the ball from the 22 meter line , very
nice moves despite the maximum risks run. This playing is in between the
Bull fight and traditional fight.
This Team has played many times the French Championship final and has won
the final in 1963 vs "Les Culs Rouges" (the Red Asses) of Dax,
the all time Mont de Marsan ennemies who we have to win beyond all.
Now, even if Rugby became professional, "Le Stade Montois Rugby"
succeeded in keeping its values (Soul, Panache, nice playing) in the Professional
Rugby World, playing a nice top level rugby either in Top14 or in Pro D2
although they have one of the lowest budget because of the lack support
from big companies or sponsors .
The secret? They have soul, panache, little money but they work hard and
have a "savoir faire" with an efficient training center which
provides good players, they have a nice playing which is the most important
for the supporters. Lookt at them at the Guy Boniface stadium singing "Toustem"
or setting the ambiance on fire when a nice action is on. Look at them partying
after a good match (having won or not)... just because the playing was nice!
As
we usually say, « Toustem, Amasse Que Gagneram ! »

DOMAINE DE LA TUILERIE : BAS-ARMAGNAC
We are proud of our partnership with Le Domaine de la Tuilerie: Bas-Armagnac.
In Japan, at the Fuji Rock festival, Gascony was represented in the one
hand by the Mousqueteers in the other hand by the Armagnac... not the rugby
as they can't play this game, so we avoid the matter!
Produced since the Middle-Age and considered as the oldest French Eau-de-Vie,
the Armagnac is a rare liquor, it is compared to old Whiskies (more commercial)
or Cognac and it represents some Values like sharing moments with Friends
or after a very good meal. In Armagnac, a lot of passionated persons still
make the Armagnac traditionally, inheritating the right of producing Armagnac
from their father without living from it. It's 1st of all a matter of pleasure
and tradition protection, authenticity, top quality, small quantities rather
than big distribution... That's what makes it very rare and that's because
Japanese like it.
Colette Remazeilles is a real Gascon people and she is one of the few women
producing Armagnac. She got from her father the right of distiling a Bas-Armagnac
100% Baco made with Passion and Love respecting ancestral traditions using
her amazing alambic (heating with wood instead of Gaz)!
We offer some of her Armagnac all around the world to our friends and to
people who welcome us. Armagnac is far more than a liquor. It's the way
to seal friendship and share a good moment around a table with a Gascon
meal. Just take a sip of Colette's Armagnac, you will be taken far away
in a wonderfull trip !
STADE
MONTOIS RUGBY ATTITUDE
Semi-Final vs Albi
After
a nice victory vs Dax (we are Landes Champion as we won twice vs Dax, that's
the most important), "le Stade Montois" won vs Oyonnax 48 - 24
and set the field on fire for the last match of Matanavou, Cler and Berek
and more. They even let Omarchea (our prop) shoot a penalty which ended
"en biscoueyte" (he missed it). Ending the Championship at the
4th place (just before Bordeaux who lost their last match vs Auch the other
Gascon club), "Le Stade Montois" plays the semi-final vs Albi
in Albi where it's raining cats and dogs. The Inspector Cluzo was there
although we had to cancel the soundcheck ot the gig at night! "Le Stade
Montois" has finally lost at the end of the extra time having missed
6 penalties from the beginning.
We wish good luck to Albi for their final vs Bordeaux and we thank again
"Le Stade Montois": Although they lost, the party was great. We
are looking forward to the next championship! We thank the players, the
crew and the audience who went massively to Albi to support the team.
Lastly, we are now partner of "Le Stade Montois" and we'll make
you discover the team via our website, full of "hidden" stories
and Interviews. See you soon!

AVANTE
TOUTE STADE MONTOIS RUGBY : SEMI-FINAL VS ALBI
Amasse
que gagneram !!!!
On saturday we'll play in Chanac, but before that, we'll be at the match
versus Albi, even if we had to cancel our soundcheck for that... we have
to be there! You know how we're bounded to the values of Gascony and Landes.
Stade Montois is a team that represents these values from one hundred years
ago:
Our
team is fourth in the championship, just ahead Bordeaux (thanks to Auch,
another team from Gascony), and we'll play this semi-final versus Albi.
It'll be hard, as Albi is an "agressive" team. But the people
here like to be challenged! Stade Montois has the smallest budget of the
Big 4, and even if we lose this match, we have already won something big...
things that money can't buy!

Julien Cabannes, rookie of Stade Montois
Partnership
Then,
we're very happy to announce that we're official partners of the Stade Montois
team since the last week, and soon you'll find a "Rugby Attitude Stade
Montois" part on our website. It's more interesting for us to share
these values
than to have partnerships with guitar makers or magazines. Let's talk about
the others!
Go
Stade Montois! Dal Maso & Prosper, let's go and win this fucking game

CLUZO ON WIKIPEDIA

THE INSPECTOR CLUZO @ VIEILLES CHARRUES FESTIVAL 2011
Last Tuesday, the Vieilles Charrues Festival (the Older Ploughs)
announced, live from the Carhaix bowling, that The Inspector Cluzo is on the
line-up this year. We're confirmed at the festival since January 10th, but
for their 20th anniversary, the organizers wanted to announce it first.
TIC was introduced like this :
« The 3 mousqueteers were 4 in fact. The Inspecteur Cluzo is
a
duet. Those guys from "Gascogne" are bad in maths but destined write
a big part the history of Music! Fuck the bass player is the title of their
1st song and their belief: that's the end of the power rock trio, that's amazing
what you can do with 2 people! A guitar player singing impressive high vocals
and suddenly being in a possesed death metal attitude. And a so many arms
drummer -Vishnou style- drumming hard while playing keyboard! The inspecteur
Cluzo started getting his reputation from abroad where the band is called
"The French Bastards" because of his furious fusion! A more powerfull
fusion than the original one launched few years ago by Fishbone. Fishbone
lead singer Angelo Moore -friend of his- is never far away from him."
It seemed very important to them that we're from this little town in the countryside.
Why? Because for them, it's certainly very important to be in Carhaix, in
the countryside of the Britanny, and still to be the biggest rock festival
in France.
Gascugna, Brittany and the others: the future of
France
The Vieilles Charrues Festival could be seen as a big fuck to political, cultural
and administrative centralization of France, while its talents are also and
above all
in the countryside, where people have kept forgotten values
such work, pride and humility. Using those values, far away from the bobo
attitude of the big cities, you can have great success.Unlike many countries
that we've visited around the world, where everything has been leveled, where
people are only concentrated in megacities, France is rich because of the
diversity of his regions. This is our last chance to build a good country.
It's not about archaic ideas, it's about basing our life on those values of
work, humility and good judgements : that's how a team of friends from a small
village in Brittany became one day the biggest festival in the country, way
ahead Paris and its Rock En Seine festival. It's about saying that we can
think a different way than racing for a kind of super-regular-all-money-based-industrial-world-companies-high-concentrated-in-major-cities
world.
That's the proof that you can also create great wealth, based on regional
and peasants values. The Vieilles Charrues Festival is an example of such
success
We think about our local rugby team, Stade Montois : based on
their glorious past and the cultural richness of their playing, they're rebuilding
a great club, without going to fast and without big money, rather using their
good training center and a very rational and well informed staff. There is
also Armagnac, one of the most authentic liquor, while the Cognac became a
very commercial brand. Even if we are only talking about the ones we know
here in Gascony, there are plenty of good stuff all around our regions. And
while our politicians, our economists and our medias don't see how the crisis
could stop, perhaps we should only look just under our feet, and see the huge
regional heritage and the philosophy from the elders. We would just have to
adapt them to the modern world.
While nobody sees other model than the Anglo-Saxon way of thinking and/or
the cynical resignation of the bobo movement, the Vieilles Charrues
Festival and these other regional success stories show that there is also
an easier way
but you have to really want to take this path. It's not
a glittering path, and we know that many people won't take this path because
they just want to be a star and are caught up in the cynicism of consumer
society. But it's consistent with our traditions and our diversity. You can
respect yourself and respect the others. This path is the one that The Inspector
Cluzo has chosen, to assume the fact of being a Gascon from the countryside
of Mont-de-Marsan, to take care of our business the same way the craftsmen
do. Because even if it seems to close some doors, we know we're right and
we'll see it on the long term.
Therefore, we'll feel at The Vieilles Charrues like at home, in Brittanny,
in France, in order to mix our values with the Brittany's ones, because the
french regional diversity is a great richness for the future. Long life to
the Vieilles Charrues! Long life to The Inspector Cluzo! Long life to the
french regions!
Vieilles Charrues billing
The Inspector Cluzo is now on Wikipedia
and has his own German myspace designed by Jan, our friend from the TIC
Army: it's here
THE PRINTEMPS DE BOURGES OR THE "WOERTH FESTIVAL"This week some
people will go to a festival which could be apparently clean and out of
any suspicious. We couldn't be confirmed the same week at a very respectfull
festival in all domain such Les Vieilles Charrues, and ignore the Printemps
de Bourges which is in the total opposite way.
LE PRINTEMPS
DE BOURGES OR THE "WOERTH FESTIVAL"
Le Printemps de Bourges is a typical French thing: the Government, through
its local wings, gives subsides to this type of festival -so with YOUR money-
to allow them to book new / starting bands. So far so good. It's the symbol
of our French cultural exception that festivals like Europavox (we talked
about this festival last week) can hopefully use. Here at Le Printemps de
Bourges, there is a little problem : the bookers are actually two booking
agents of different companies who sell their bands in priority (enjoying
their position of being and sellers), and book in a second hand bands from
other booking agencies whereas all is based on the public money. That's
what we call: a conflict of interest. It's a bit like if we'd ask Mac Donald's
to make an objective report on the junk food in France.
The link with our former Financial Minister Eric Woerth is obvious (Eric
Woerth has been caught using his power to help a rich person to avoid paying
tax, and his wife was working for this rich person. He kept saying to people
that he had nothing to do in that affair), due to the conflict of interest,
but above all, by the way they defend themselves : "We are completely
objective and we don't mix things". Does it remind you anything? Indeed,
Eric Woerth said the same thing! We're now totally reassured, knowing the
philanthropy of the music business
We won't talk about the little tricks and exchanges they do with their friends
all the time
to be totally honest, the access to the festival has
been denied to us last year, and that's how we realized how this festival
works. Now we don't need to play this festival but we can't keep thinking
about all the bands facing this situation, they have to play the game or
their career will be destroyed. That is all you have to know about that!
This week will start then the "Woerth Festival", as we call now
the Printemps de Bourges, having explained you why. Now you can go there
knowing the other side of this festival. The funny thing is that this week,
the great festival "Les Vieilles Charrues" have announced 20 years
of freedom and ethic, financial and artistic independence
